Description
Aproderm Ointment is a paraffin based ointment for very dry, scaling or cracked skin. An ointment holds no water and forms a greasy layer that slows evaporation from the skin beneath, so it lasts longer on the skin than a cream and suits areas that stay dry, and overnight use in particular. It is smoothed on thinly in the direction the hair grows, as often as the skin needs it, and it can be used as a soap substitute.
It has no preservative or fragrance in the way a cream usually does, which some people with sensitive skin prefer. Paraffin soaks into dressings, clothing and bedding and makes them catch fire far more easily, so keep away from naked flames, heaters and lit cigarettes, and wash fabrics often.
