Description
A denture box is a lidded container used to hold a denture when it is out of the mouth, whether overnight, during soaking or while travelling. Keeping a denture in a closed box protects it from being dropped, stood on or lost, and dentures are brittle enough to crack if they fall onto a hard surface. A denture is normally cleaned by brushing, soaked according to the directions of whatever cleaner is used, and kept damp while it is out of the mouth, since some denture materials distort if they are allowed to dry out.
The box itself is rinsed and cleaned regularly. A denture that has become loose, that rubs, or that no longer fits should be looked at by a dentist.
