Description
Fultium-D3 800iu capsules contain colecalciferol, which is vitamin D3. Vitamin D helps the body absorb calcium and phosphate from food and is needed for healthy bone and muscle. The capsules are used to prevent and to treat vitamin D deficiency, and are also given alongside treatment for osteoporosis where a prescriber judges that vitamin D is needed.
Capsules are swallowed whole with water, usually once a day, with or after food. Tell your prescriber if you have kidney disease or a history of kidney stones, sarcoidosis, or a raised blood calcium level, and mention any other supplement or multivitamin you take, because taking more than one vitamin D product together can add up to too much.
Vitamin D can interact with medicines including thiazide diuretics and digoxin. Blood calcium is sometimes checked during longer courses. Read the leaflet for the full ingredient list if you have allergies.
