Description
Germoloids Cream contains zinc oxide and lidocaine hydrochloride and is used for the symptoms of haemorrhoids, also called piles. Lidocaine is a local anaesthetic and numbs the area, which eases pain and itching; zinc oxide is an astringent that soothes and helps protect irritated skin. A small amount is applied to the affected area after washing and drying it, following the leaflet for how often.
The cream base is lighter than the ointment, which some people prefer for external use. Wash your hands before and after applying. Treatment is short term; if symptoms have not improved after seven days, ask a pharmacist or doctor. Bleeding from the back passage, severe pain, or a change in bowel habit should be assessed by a doctor rather than treated by continuing with a self care product.
