Description
Germoloids Ointment contains zinc oxide and lidocaine hydrochloride and is used for the symptoms of haemorrhoids, also called piles. Lidocaine is a local anaesthetic and numbs the area, which relieves pain and itching; zinc oxide is an astringent that soothes and helps protect irritated skin. The ointment is applied to the affected area after washing and drying, and the nozzle supplied with the tube allows it to be applied inside the back passage where that is needed.
Wash your hands before and after use, and clean the nozzle after each application. Treatment is short term; if symptoms have not improved after seven days, ask a pharmacist or doctor. Report any bleeding from the back passage, severe pain, or a change in bowel habit to a doctor rather than continuing to self treat.
