Description

Ibuprofen 600mg is a prescription strength of a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug. Ibuprofen reduces pain and inflammation and lowers a high temperature, and at prescription strengths it is used for conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, other musculoskeletal and joint disorders, and moderate pain including period pain.

Tablets are swallowed whole with or after food, usually three or four times a day, and your prescriber will tell you the total daily dose and how long to take it. Anti-inflammatory medicines can irritate the stomach and can cause ulceration or bleeding, and longer use at higher doses carries a small increased risk of heart attack and stroke, so the lowest dose that controls symptoms is used for the shortest time.

Tell your prescriber if you have asthma, high blood pressure, heart, kidney or liver problems or a history of stomach ulcer, and if you take aspirin, an anticoagulant, an SSRI antidepressant or another anti-inflammatory.
