Description
Acriflex Cream is an antiseptic cream in a 30g tube, containing chlorhexidine hydrochloride. It is used on minor burns and scalds once they have been cooled, and on small cuts, grazes and areas of minor skin infection, where the antiseptic reduces the number of bacteria on the surface of the skin. For a burn, cool the area under cool running water for twenty minutes first, then dry the surrounding skin and apply a thin layer of cream; the burn should not be treated with cream instead of cooling.
On a cut or graze, clean the wound, dry the skin and apply thinly, covering with a dressing if the area is likely to rub. Keep the cream away from the eyes and do not use it in the mouth or on large areas of broken skin. A burn that blisters, one larger than the palm of the hand, or any burn to the face, hands, feet or genitals needs medical assessment.
