Description
Cuprofen tablets contain ibuprofen 400mg, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug. Ibuprofen relieves pain, reduces inflammation and lowers a high temperature, and the pharmacy pack is used for headache, dental pain, period pain, muscular and rheumatic pain, backache, neuralgia and the aches of colds and flu. The tablets are taken with or after food, and the leaflet gives the dose and the maximum number of tablets in 24 hours, which should not be exceeded.
Ibuprofen can irritate the stomach and, less often, cause ulceration or bleeding. It is not suitable if you have had a stomach ulcer or bleed, severe heart failure, or wheezing brought on by aspirin or another anti-inflammatory. Do not take it alongside other medicines containing an NSAID. Speak to the pharmacist if you are pregnant, or if you take tablets for blood pressure, an anticoagulant or an antidepressant, and see a doctor if pain lasts more than a few days.
