Description
A waterproof dressing supplied on a roll, 6.3cm wide and 1 metre long, to be cut to whatever length a wound needs. Cutting your own means the adhesive border can be made generous on the sides that matter, which is what makes a water resistant dressing hold on an awkward site. Clean the wound and dry the skin all round, cut a piece longer than the wound, peel the backing away and lay the pad over the wound without touching its face.
Press the border down from the pad outwards so there are no channels for water. Change the dressing daily, and immediately if water gets underneath. A deep, gaping or heavily bleeding wound, or one with something embedded in it, needs assessment rather than dressing at home.
