Description
Feminax Ultra contains naproxen 250mg, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug. It reduces the prostaglandins responsible for the cramping pain of a period, and this pharmacy pack is licensed for period pain in women within a defined age range. The tablets are swallowed whole with water, with or just after food, starting when the pain begins.
The pack sets out a first dose, then further doses at intervals up to a daily maximum, and limits treatment to a small number of days in each period. Do not take another anti-inflammatory or aspirin at the same time. Naproxen can irritate the stomach and cause indigestion, ulceration or bleeding. It is not suitable if you have had a stomach ulcer, asthma made worse by aspirin or another anti-inflammatory, severe heart failure, or kidney problems.
Speak to the pharmacist if your periods have recently changed or the pain is unusual.
