Description
Kelo-Cote Scar Treatment is a self drying silicone gel applied over a closed scar, supplied in a 15g tube. It is applied in a very thin layer and left to dry, forming a flexible sheet over the scar that holds moisture in the scar tissue. It is used on scars where the wound has fully closed, never on an open wound or broken skin.
It is applied once or twice a day as directed, and it is used over a sustained period of months rather than days, since scar tissue changes slowly. Wait until it is dry before dressing. A scar that is painful, spreading beyond the original wound, or thickening rapidly should be assessed.
