Description
Luforbec is a pressurised inhaler containing beclometasone dipropionate, an inhaled corticosteroid, with formoterol, a long-acting beta-2 agonist. The steroid reduces inflammation in the airways and formoterol relaxes the muscle around them, so the inhaler is used as regular treatment for asthma where a combination is appropriate, and at the lower strength in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
The beclometasone in it is extrafine, so the dose is not interchangeable with beclometasone inhalers that are not extrafine; do not switch between brands without advice. It is taken every day, whether or not you have symptoms, and only used for symptom relief where a prescriber has set that up. Rinse your mouth with water after each dose.
Tell your prescriber about heart rhythm problems, high blood pressure, thyroid disease, diabetes or a low blood potassium level.
