Description
Mirvaso contains brimonidine 3.3mg/g, an alpha-2 agonist. It narrows the small blood vessels in the skin and is licensed for the symptomatic treatment of the persistent facial redness of rosacea in adults. It treats the redness only; it does not treat the papules and pustules, and it does not change the underlying condition, so the redness returns as the effect wears off.
A pea-sized amount is applied thinly and evenly once a day across the forehead, chin, nose and each cheek, avoiding the eyes, eyelids, lips and the inside of the nose and mouth. Wash your hands afterwards. In some people the redness comes back more strongly than before, or spreads beyond the treated area; if this happens, stop and speak to your prescriber.
Tell your prescriber about heart or circulation problems, depression, or any eye condition.
