Description
Accu-Chek Performa Test Strips are single use strips for measuring glucose in a drop of capillary blood with an Accu-Chek Performa meter. A strip is inserted into the meter, blood from a fingertip is touched to the edge of the strip, and the meter draws in the sample and displays a reading. Each strip is used once and then discarded.
Strips are sensitive to heat and moisture, so the vial is closed straight after taking one out and stored as the label directs, and strips past their expiry or in use date are not reliable. These strips work only with the meter they are designed for. A single reading shows the glucose level at that moment; it does not replace review of diabetes care, and readings that do not match how a person feels should be repeated.
