Description
Mizollen contains mizolastine 10mg, a non-sedating antihistamine, in a modified-release tablet. It is licensed for the symptoms of seasonal and perennial allergic rhinoconjunctivitis, such as sneezing, nasal itching and itchy watery eyes, and for urticaria. One tablet is taken once a day. Because the tablet releases the medicine slowly, it is swallowed whole with water and must not be chewed, crushed or split.
Mizolastine can affect the electrical activity of the heart, so it is not suitable if you have a heart rhythm problem, a slow heart rate, a low potassium level or significant liver disease. It should not be taken with a macrolide antibiotic such as erythromycin, with a systemic antifungal such as ketoconazole, or with certain medicines for heart rhythm. Tell your prescriber about every medicine you take before you start.
