Description
Ricola The Original are sugar free herbal lozenges made in Switzerland with the manufacturer’s alpine herb blend, in a 45g bag. This is the flavour the range is built on, closer to a herb and honey character than to a mint. They are confectionery rather than a licensed medicine and do not treat a cough, a cold or a throat infection.
A lozenge is sucked slowly and left to dissolve, which keeps the mouth moist. As the pack is sugar free the sweetness generally comes from polyols, and eating a large quantity of any polyol sweetened sweet in a day can cause wind or loose stools. Whole lozenges can choke a young child. Ask a pharmacist about a sore throat or cough that is not settling after about a week.
