Description
Silicolgel is a liquid gel taken by mouth for gastrointestinal symptoms such as indigestion, nausea, bloating, flatulence and stomach discomfort. It contains silicic acid in gel form, which is not absorbed into the body; it passes along the gut, where it is intended to coat the lining and bind irritants before leaving the body in the stool.
The dose is measured with the cap or measure supplied and taken as directed on the pack, usually before or between meals, and it can be taken with a little water. This is a 200ml bottle. Shake before use and note the period the bottle may be kept after opening. Persistent symptoms, difficulty swallowing, vomiting, blood in the stool or unintended weight loss need medical assessment rather than continued self treatment.
