Description
A home sample collection kit for a laboratory measurement related to blood glucose control. The sample is collected at home following the kit instructions, registered and posted to a laboratory, which reports the result. A single laboratory measurement does not diagnose diabetes. Diagnosis is made by a clinician, usually on more than one measurement together with symptoms and other findings, and several things can affect a result, including recent illness, some medicines, pregnancy and certain blood conditions.
A result within the reported range does not rule out diabetes or any other condition. Take any result, particularly an unexpected one, to a GP or another healthcare professional rather than acting on it alone.
