Description
A fluoride toothpaste in a 75ml tube for teeth that are sensitive to cold, heat, sweet things or touch. Sensitivity usually comes from exposed dentine, where enamel has worn or the gum has receded, leaving fine tubules that carry a stimulus through to the nerve. Toothpastes of this kind work either by blocking those tubules or by calming the nerve response, and both take regular use over a few weeks rather than a single brushing.
Use it twice a day in place of an ordinary toothpaste. Sensitivity that is sharp, limited to one tooth, or that lingers after the stimulus is removed should be looked at by a dentist, since it may point to a crack, decay or a failing filling.
