Extra Peppermint Gum is a sugar free chewing gum in a 14g pack. Chewing sugar free gum after eating increases the flow of saliva, which helps clear food debris and neutralise the acid produced by plaque bacteria, so dental services often suggest it after a meal when brushing is not possible. It is not a substitute for brushing twice a day with a fluoride toothpaste or for cleaning between the teeth.
The gum is sweetened with polyols, so eating a large quantity in one go can cause wind, bloating or a laxative effect. Keep it out of reach of young children and away from dogs, since some sugar free products contain xylitol, which is toxic to dogs.
