Nexium Control

Description

Nexium Control contains esomeprazole 20mg, a proton pump inhibitor. Rather than neutralising acid that is present, it reduces how much acid the stomach produces, and it is licensed for the short term treatment of reflux symptoms such as heartburn and acid regurgitation in adults. One gastro-resistant tablet is taken daily, swallowed whole with water and not chewed or crushed, usually before a meal.

It is not for immediate relief: the full effect can take two to three days, and treatment is limited to the period stated on the pack, commonly up to fourteen days. Speak to a doctor before use if there is difficulty swallowing, vomiting of blood, black stools, unintended weight loss, if symptoms began recently over the age of 55, or if other medicines are taken, since esomeprazole interacts with clopidogrel and others.
